Ideas for Unique One of a Kind Favors for Baby Showers

For parents who have been waiting a long time to have a baby, having a baby shower planned for them will make them happier. Getting together with friends, family, and loved ones can be a time of re-bonding and acknowledgement for the couple at this special point in their lives.

There are times when the friends either give a group gift or simply bring in individual gifts for the baby. The excitement of opening up the gifts in front of the friends and the delight of the new parents-to-be is a time for taking more pictures and having great fun.

For the one planning for the party favors this can take a lot of time to think and plan on. However, one idea for unique baby shower favors is to add a unique item, personally chosen for each guest that attends the shower. This is especially possible if there are only a few close friends are invited.

First of all, prepare something that can be commonly given to all the girls. Prepare the usual items like bath gels, bath salts, candy and whatever else. And then add something totally unique in the loot by placing something that will be special to that one person who gets it.

If you have a friend who likes to garden or simply adores flowers and is known for her green thumb, include in the bag or box several packs of seeds of her favorite flowers and plants. Imagine when after she sows the seeds and they start growing and blooming – what a delight to see that the gift gave her such pleasure. Seeing her flowers bloom will remind her of the day of the baby shower.

If you have a friend who likes to sew stuff, then consider including a quilting kit or design. Quilters are known for their fanaticism with fabric and getting an unusual fabric makes their artistic mind open to all sorts of possibilities. She will forever remember where that material came from when looking at her finished quilt.

How about adding a recipe book for someone who really loves to cook? It doesn’t have to be something expensive. Get something that has great pictures in them that it is good enough to be placed on the coffee table for her to flip through.

What about adding a pack of melting chocolate that the baker friend loves to use for her chocolate creations? She can always invite the gang over to sample her latest creation and everyone can laugh about the inspiration from the loot bag of party favors.

How about that friend who likes pasta? Why not send her off with a recipe, some fresh Italian noodles and parmesan cheese? She can mix up her favorite pasta dish for herself alone or for the group.

Coming up with something unique for a friend is easily done if one knows who the friend really is. Any party favor can be unique and much appreciated if people get something unique for themselves.

Suggestions for Traditional Wedding Favors

No matter how many popular and new wedding themes there are, a wedding that has a classical or traditional touch is something that is more memorable. Whether in the ceremony or in the reception, a traditional item or activity makes the wedding more elegant and more pulled together.

With wedding favors, there are also a lot of choices and even for someone who has a unique theme for their wedding. Some people still prefer traditional favors because of their appeal and their usability. While there are modern twists on traditional wedding ideas and favors, here are some of the most well-loved traditional wedding favors.

Chocolate and almonds are your top choices should you want to give edible favors. Chocolates can be placed in small boxes (whether bars or small bite size pieces) and the packaging can be can be accessorized with ribbon or laces tied to the box. Almonds, particularly the chocolate coated ones, are generally being given to acknowledge the bittersweet union of the couple.

For decorative and yet practical wedding favors, you may want to go for the traditional wedding bell or photo frame favor. The wedding bell can be used as well during the reception itself because as the guests ring the bell, it is a call for the couple to kiss.

A photo frame favor can be a good decoration and yet be used for practical purposes as well. You can either have a specialized print on the photo frame itself with the wedding details, or you can print it on special paper and place it in the frame. Or you can incorporate your photo as a couple as well.

You can make no mistake in choosing traditional wedding favors – they are well-loved over time and both your male and female guests will love them. Remember that it is indeed sometimes the thought that counts, and even if you do not choose a trendy or an expensive wedding favor, you will still be able to deliver your message of gratitude to your guests. After all, you are thanking them for something that is not equal to money, but rather, their presence and their well wishes. This is what is most important in making your wedding memorable.

Get Great but Cheap Wedding Favors

Like so many things, you need not sacrifice quality just because something costs less.
As for wedding favors, there are alternative ways on how you can get to give impressive wedding favors but without having to blow your budget.

You can make your own wedding favors if you have a hand at crafting or if you know the basics of baking and have the right equipment for them. Bake cupcakes or make cookies that your guests will love. This will really cut your cost in half. Simply decorate them with candy sprinkles spelling out your initials, or put heart-shaped candies on them. Give special bookmarks or if you know your way around wax, make your own candle favors. Mold them into heart shapes, your name initials or make them simple candlesticks as long as you use your color motif as the color of your candles.

Visit your local grocery to see if there are any items that you can use as favors. Readily available are lip balms, soaps, or bookmarks. They definitely cost less than buying them in specialty bridal stores. You can also save on shipping, taxes and other fees that are charged when you buy through mail order or online. If these are small items and the quantity is not that much, you can pick it up (remember to order in advance so you won’t cram your schedule), instead of being charged delivery fees.

You may want to pass on décor and embellishment for your wedding favor packaging. While a heart charm may look good, or adding a few ribbon on the packaging may make it look elegant, these items will be discarded as the guests will only keep the main wedding favor. Save on cost by not adding these items.

Looking for other options? Popular wedding favors that cost less are seed packets, bookmarks and personally made recipes.

Every blushing bride wants to keep her wedding costs to a minimum. They could all use that savings for an extra night on a Hawaiian honeymoon. By being practical and creative, you can also get that elegant wedding favor without breaking the bank.

You don’t need to copy your cousin’s arrangement where they spent a large amount of money on favors alone because they did not have ample time to prepare. Like so many things, preparation is still key so that you have more options and plenty of time to make them on your own if your budget will not really allow you to buy them at retail.

Great Baby Shower, Wedding, or Party Favors that Fit In Small Organza Bags

Having a party or any social event requires preparation and sticking to the theme all throughout the event – from the invitation down to the favors. There are a lot of favors available and there are different ways of wrapping them as well. Whether gift wrapped, placed with hang tags, or labels or stickers, the packaging is important in making the favor look presentable and special. But perhaps the most popular of them all is organza bags. These bags are small, lightweight, and at times come in different colors.

Here are some options that you can use and depending on the event and guests that you have, you can choose a favor that everyone will truly enjoy.

-The most popular and favorite edible favor, chocolates, may be your best bet as favors that you can place in organza bags. Depending on the size, you can put at least 4 to 5 pieces of these sweet treats in one bag. If you can get an organza bag in another color, it is all the better as the color of the chocolate inside (whether foil wrapped or not) will stand out.

-Nuts also make for good favors. Almonds specifically can be coated with sugar or chocolate to make them even more delectable. These tasty treats may be given as favors in almost any type of party or event – whether a welcome party or a congratulatory party.

-Soap favors make for a practical favor but can be made more elegant when placed in organza bags. Have them individually wrapped still so the fragrance will still be concentrated in the pack.

-Compact mirrors and keychain also make for practical favors and what’s best is you can personalize them depending on the event that you will have.

Shakers, coasters, shot glasses or any small item can be made into a favor. There is practically no limit, except for size for obvious reasons, and you can use any item as a favor. Remember that planning for everything should come months or weeks ahead so you get to have ample time in deciding what favor would be best. You can use your creativity and add colors, lace, or ribbons to your organza bag to make them look special. During christenings or baby showers, you can use pink or blue ribbons or laces, or during weddings you can use wedding favor bags that comes in red.

Most importantly, have fun in choosing and making your favors. Remember that it is your time and effort that can make anything about your party extra special.
