Get Great but Cheap Wedding Favors

Like so many things, you need not sacrifice quality just because something costs less.
As for wedding favors, there are alternative ways on how you can get to give impressive wedding favors but without having to blow your budget.

You can make your own wedding favors if you have a hand at crafting or if you know the basics of baking and have the right equipment for them. Bake cupcakes or make cookies that your guests will love. This will really cut your cost in half. Simply decorate them with candy sprinkles spelling out your initials, or put heart-shaped candies on them. Give special bookmarks or if you know your way around wax, make your own candle favors. Mold them into heart shapes, your name initials or make them simple candlesticks as long as you use your color motif as the color of your candles.

Visit your local grocery to see if there are any items that you can use as favors. Readily available are lip balms, soaps, or bookmarks. They definitely cost less than buying them in specialty bridal stores. You can also save on shipping, taxes and other fees that are charged when you buy through mail order or online. If these are small items and the quantity is not that much, you can pick it up (remember to order in advance so you won’t cram your schedule), instead of being charged delivery fees.

You may want to pass on décor and embellishment for your wedding favor packaging. While a heart charm may look good, or adding a few ribbon on the packaging may make it look elegant, these items will be discarded as the guests will only keep the main wedding favor. Save on cost by not adding these items.

Looking for other options? Popular wedding favors that cost less are seed packets, bookmarks and personally made recipes.

Every blushing bride wants to keep her wedding costs to a minimum. They could all use that savings for an extra night on a Hawaiian honeymoon. By being practical and creative, you can also get that elegant wedding favor without breaking the bank.

You don’t need to copy your cousin’s arrangement where they spent a large amount of money on favors alone because they did not have ample time to prepare. Like so many things, preparation is still key so that you have more options and plenty of time to make them on your own if your budget will not really allow you to buy them at retail.
