Ideas for Western-Style Favors

During weddings, one is able to see the cultural heritage of the couple. Whether Hispanic, Asian or European, you can almost instantly feel that the couple is truly proud to show their traditions, cultures, and beliefs. In every part of the wedding, you can easily see the cultural influence being injected in the ceremony and reception.

In the US, while the culture will be generally the same, there are subtle differences and this is commonly dictated by the area where they are staying. The people from the East Coast have a different lifestyle and cultural practices from the West. The people from the Mid-Western side of the country, more commonly known to other countries as the area where the cowboys are, are truly proud of their culture and heritage. For weddings, there are ceremonies where there are strong western influences such that from the ceremony, to the wedding favors, this influence can easily be seen.

Here are some common western-style favors that you would commonly see in weddings, or you can adapt in your own western-style wedding:

Cowboy boots – Probably the most popular symbol and one that is easily associated with the mid-western style can be made into different wedding favors. You can combine them with classic wedding favor items for a truly coordinated look.

There are candles that are shaped in cowboy boots, as well as soaps and keychain. These items can be ordered in various colors so choose one that is the same as your color motif, or choose one that can complement it. Handles of can openers, the body of a flower vase, and coffee mugs can be ordered to be especially designed with cowboy boots shape.

Another popular western design is that of a horseshoe. There are several items that you can give away that is shaped this way, such as: candles, candy bars, chocolate bars or soaps as well. You can have photo frames, bookmarks or paper weights printed with the shape of a horse shoe.

Another great alternative would be giving a personalized CD with your favorite western songs. You can put your wedding details on the flap of the CD and your playlist on the inner cover. If you cannot have the main wedding favor in a western style, try to incorporate it in the packaging by placing them in regular paper wraps but shaped as cowboy boots.

People are naturally proud of their heritage. And for the Western people, they are proud of it because they are known to the world not just for the cowboy movies but also for their belief and also family values and independence. You can show this off in your wedding, and even if some of your guests are not from the mid-west, you can still have a western theme for your wedding favors as this is a really fun theme that displays your heritage.
