How to Pick Flowers That Go With Your Wedding Colors

On your very special day, let everything capture the romance and love between you and your spouse. And at the same time, let it reflect your own personal style as you choose the flowers that will go with your wedding colors.

Here are some important things that you should consider when choosing flowers for your wedding day that will not just blend but truly coordinate with your wedding colors:

Your own preference.
If you choose flowers, you can use the color of the flower and use the same shade to as your wedding motif. You can use varying degree of shade depending on the item. If you are more contemporary, you may want to consider grasses and herbs, and the light color combination of these will make for a romantic, spring season-like wedding.

Know your color palette.
You may go classic and choose complementing colors or colors in the same shade. However, if you follow modern color styles, you can have fun and combine almost any color that you fancy – perfect if you cant choose which among your favorite colors to use.

Coordinate all colors.
Certain shades look good only on certain items. Check if the same shade as your pink flower will look good on fabric as well. At times, some colors will look good only in small doses but when the same color is used in gowns, centerpieces, decorations, and overall motif, it might start to look too monochromatic. Make sure you check the gradients and other shades of the same color to give the room a more dynamic look.

For flowers, you can check bundles if it looks good, and for fabrics, borrow swatches so you can ensure that the dressmaker is using the exact shade you want. You can also have matching flower favors if you want to go with a floral theme.

Now that you have the color scheme selected, you can now choose which flower you’ll use depending on the shade or hue:

-Pink Flowers - Baby's Breath, Calla Lily, Carnation, Dahlia, Daisy, Rose, Stock Tulip
-Red flowers – Chrysanthemum, Rose, Stock Tulip
-White Flowers – Daffodil, Gladiola, Lily of the Valley, Orchid, Rose, Star of Bethlehem
