Top Considerations in Your Wedding Budget

With so many things to consider in a wedding celebration, most couples feel overwhelmed by the wedding expenses. While all aspects may be important, the allotment of some of these items to your wedding shouldn’t be the same or as much as others. Without sacrificing the quality, there are major and as well as minor changes that you can make to your wedding budget that can save you on overall costs.

The reception venue and food is one of the top considerations in your budget. While the menu and other charges may be flexible up to some point, the number of guests and as well as the main courses in the menu and time of day you are reserving the venue are fixed. Allot a major portion of your budget for this. You can lessen or totally cancel out some items in your wedding but not the reception venue and menu.

Other major aspects are the wedding gown, ceremony venue fee, and photography and videography charge. Whether you will be having a designer dress, or a ready-made one from the department store, or a vintage one from a thrift store, you should allot the appropriate amount, or else you will be left with your casual clothes on your wedding day.

The ceremony venue fee should be paid in advance as well. As most of these venues do not allow soft booking, the first one who gets to reserve and pay the deposit gets the venue. It is important to secure your ceremony venue, or else you may have to have your ceremony in your backyard, or some other substandard location.

The photography and videography will capture the vivid reminders of your wedding so do not get second class people to save money. Get the best videographer and photographer that you can afford with your budget.

The invitation, wedding favors, and flowers are some of the things that can be considered secondary in your wedding budget.

Making your own invitations and favors is quickly becoming one of the more popular wedding ideas. You can make your own invitation using regular printers and you just need to buy specially printed paper. You can make decorative or edible favors as well, depending on your skill and whether you are into crafts or baking. While all things are important, there are some aspects in your wedding budget that you can squeeze. Think out of the box and do not rely on suppliers for everything as they will quickly double up your costs. Look for alternatives without having to sacrifice your satisfaction and comfort. Besides, you can probably use the extra money on your honeymoon.
