Tips on How to Choose the Perfect Wedding Favor

Every bride wants to have the perfect gown, the perfect menu, the perfect venue, the perfect everything. It is important to remember that to accomplish this, everything from the invitation to the wedding favors should reflect the theme of the wedding. All the items, prints, and colors should look coordinated and in-sync with your wedding theme. It is important that every aspect about the wedding favor can easily be associated with your wedding colors and motif.

Your chosen color for the wedding favors should be in accordance to your theme. Popular ones are green, blue, red, or white-colored favors for a Christmas wedding; yellow, white, or blue colored wedding favors for a beach wedding; and green, cream, or peach for a garden wedding.

You should also choose an image or a print that is associated with your theme. An image of a castle printed on the side of a lip balm favor may be perfect for a Cinderella themed or Renaissance themed wedding, but is not as relevant for a fall wedding. Choose only those symbols that represent the time, season or theme of your wedding. Choose fall leaves when having a fall theme wedding, and choose bright yellow flowers for a spring wedding.

Slim down your choices by picking whether you will be giving a decorative favor, a usable favor, or an edible favor. For decorative favors, the more popular ones are those made of crystal. For edible favors, choose one that is preserved such as chocolate or marmalade, as fresh food items may easily spoil. For usable favors, you can check your local grocery store for practical wedding favors that are cheap.

You do not to blow your budget out of proportion so consider whether you will be buying mini versions of your favors, complete sets, or individual pieces.

Choosing the packaging is almost the same as choosing the favors itself. You have to choose the type (whether small pouch bags, decorative box, plastic wraps or foil, among others), the labels (whether stickers, hang tags or mini cards), the color (whether a silver foil, a red box, or a white bag), and your budget as well. Packaging your favors can cost you little if you’ll be buying them from your local grocery store or making them yourself, but if you will buy specially-printed boxes, be ready to shell out a little bit more.

Choosing the best wedding favors shows that you are truly appreciative of the time and effort of your guests. It also means that you want them to remember your wedding long after the event.
