A Quick Guide in Choosing Wedding Favors

A quick look inside a bridal store or glancing through the pages of wedding favors at an online shop can make any bride happy, yet undecided at the same time. Every type of wedding favor is intended to be beautiful and special, and with so many nice looking, choosing a wedding favor may border between exciting and frustrating.

To make your decision easier and avoid the stress in planning for this part of your wedding, here’s a quick guide to help you through the selection process.
Wedding favors are important symbols of gratitude and appreciation. However, you need not blow your budget because of these. Put your budget in mind when choosing wedding favors. While jewelry boxes may seem cute to give away, check if your budget will allow it. Work only around the budget that you have no matter how special you want your thank you tokens to be. Or if you really want to go for those special favors, make sure you can divert the cash from other parts of your budget.

In order to have a fully coordinated wedding and favors that will complement it, your wedding favor should be an item that is easily associated or recognizable with your wedding theme. Giving away mini bottles of chilies is in line with a Mexican wedding but would seem less relevant for an Irish themed wedding.

And speaking of themed weddings, if you are following the season of your wedding day as your theme (e.g. a beach wedding during summer), you may want to use seasonal favors to make it more convenient to you. Getting mini beach balls may be easier at this time instead of finding and giving away mini beach balls during fall.

The type or color of the favor can be easily adjusted in many cases. Or you can simply be playful with your choice of colors. An edible favor can work well on a beach wedding and not spoil as long as you handle them properly. The above major considerations; color, theme, and cost; are what you should primarily have in mind when deciding on your wedding favor.

Need some more help? Ask your wedding coordinator to give suggestions on wedding favors. While their suggestions may somehow appear familiar or ordinary, their expertise are proven to be fool-proof as they are the ones that are really ‘hands on’ with the wedding plans. More importantly, do not be overwhelmed but rather, have fun in choosing your favors. As much as you would want your guests to enjoy them, also enjoy the time when you’re deciding and choosing, and maybe even personally packaging them.
